Overview
Basketball Rule AI ("the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the App collects, how it is used, and your rights.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- No user accounts, sign-ups, or login credentials
- No personal information (name, email, phone number)
- No device identifiers or tracking cookies
- No analytics or usage tracking
- No location data
Data Stored on Your Device
The App stores the following data locally on your device only:
- Your conversation history (questions and AI responses)
- Usage counters (character count and web search usage)
This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any server. Deleting the App permanently removes all locally stored data.
Data Processed Server-Side
When you ask a question, your message and the last 3-4 conversation turns are sent to our server (Firebase Cloud Functions) to generate an AI response. This data is processed in real-time and is not stored on the server.
If the AI performs a web search and the result meets a confidence threshold, the generalised question and answer (with no user-identifying information) may be saved to an anonymised Community Knowledge Base to improve future responses.
Third-Party Services
- Anthropic (Claude AI): Processes your questions to generate rule explanations. Subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
- Firebase (Google): Hosts our server-side functions. Subject to Firebase Privacy Policy.
Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.
